Size: 6.5 x 5.25 x 7"
Introduced December, 2008
Product Details:
Second in the ongoing series of new designs reinterpreting the Original Shops of Dickens’ Village introduced in 1984.
Although the common family didn’t often enjoy meat throughout the year, Christmas was the exception. People made a special visit to the butcher for a Christmas goose, or perhaps a fine cut of beef or lamb.
• Details of this new Butcher reflect the original design
introduced in 1984; dark thatched roof, second story
dorm window, and main window trimmed with green
shutters and adorned with garland.
• The sign, shaped like a cattle head, lists the many types
of products available, including lamb and fowl.
• Selections of freshly butchered meats are hung outside
awaiting shoppers.
• The second story residence is most likely occupied by the
Beesley family and we see that pretty curtains hang from
the front and side windows.
• Note the details of the hinged shutters at each window,
which are useful for blocking the elements.
• The sculpted grinding wheel on the side of the building is
used to sharpen the butcher knives, which are
conveniently hung nearby.
• Touches of silver, to commemorate The 25th Anniversary,
are added to the hanging sign.
• Special 25th Anniversary bottom stamp.
